Creative Expression Summer Music Camp
The Creative Expression Summer Music Camp is a place for students to learn the craft of creating music and personal expression.
Students learn how artists throughout history have done so, develop the technical tools needed to play music, and are given an environment which allows and provokes creative thinking.
Students receive instruction in the areas of composition, improvisation, arranging, music and visual art history, as well as philosophy of art.
Opportunities to take part in ensembles such as jazz bands, wind ensemble, choir, chamber orchestra and drum circles are present. Students are also given the opportunity to compose and arrange for the ensembles if they wish.
An experienced faculty, comprising classical musicians to Juno award winning rock musicians, provide expertise and insight spanning a wide base of musical knowledge.
CESMC is an excellent opportunity for students to meet other young artists, share experiences and spark collaborations.
Exposure to many different art forms is emphasized, providing a wide understanding of various artistic endeavors and processes.
CESMC runs daily from July 25 -29 from 9:30am - 3pm. Lunch will be provided for each day and there will be a performance in the evening of the 29th at a TBA location. Tuition $299
